Blantyre Water Board on Tuesday 6th August 2019 signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Water Unit at eThekwini Municipality of Durban, South Africa.
Speaking at the official signing ceremony, the Comptroller of Statutory Corporations Mr. Stuart Ligomeka assured people that it is Malawi Government's commitment to provide clean water to every Malawian through implementation of Sustainable Development Goals.
"The Memorandum of Understanding which has just been signed is an endorsement of the commitment by each party and it is my hope that you will both adhere to the objectives and responsibilities outlined therein", Ligomeka said.
Blantyre Water Board and eThekwini Municipality will benefit from this partnership through knowledge sharing and capacity building.The partnership has been facilitated with financial support from African Water Association (AfWA) and will run for two years.
