Blantyre Water Board (BWB) and Blantyre City Council (BCC) today 10th May 2024 held an interface with media managers from different media houses to update and discuss issues surrounding the Malawi Water and Sanitation Project 1 (MWSP-1) which the two institutions are implementing.

Some of the issues discussed were the environmental and social impacts that will come with the project and how BWB and BCC plan to address them.

The project will ensure that people and the environment are protected and that disruptions will be managed through the Grievance Redress Mechanisms that have been put in place to ensure all social issues affecting the community are properly addressed.

BWB CEO Dr Robert Hanjahanja and BCC CEO Denis Chinseu have encouraged the media managers to help in sharing factual and verified information about the project.

On their part the media managers have asked BWB and BCC to continue engaging them for successful information flow throughout the project.
